to get in some months
The kit consists of:
5 frames of drawn foundation HSC
5 sheets of wax foundation 4,9mm
queencage
lemongrasoil
queenexcluder
1 manual
the price is 40 Euros
The combs HSC http://www.honeysupercell.com are fully drawn plastic frames of 4,9mm.
I do not like plastic at all in the hives, but it is a compromise.
These frames only remain some brood cycles in the hive, then they are replaced by small cell
foundation 4,9mm and can be used for the change of another hive.
How
to use the kit:
You have to prepare a
5 frames nuc box for Langstroth frames.
Then you have to rub some wax on the plastic frames and paint them with
a little honey.
So the bees accept them better.
You have to put the caged queen, without other bees in the cage, between
the frames.
The cages have a hole filled with candy to liberate the queen after some
time.
In the entrance you have to put a queen excluder that has the function of
an
includer, that the queen cannot escape. Then you do a shakedown with the
necessary amount of any bees onto the 5 HSC frames in the nuc.
Then you have to bring the box to another bee yard, more than 3 kilometers
away,
that the bees
do not regress to their original hive.
Within 6 weeks there are no more original bees there, all the bees are now
daughters of
the selected queen and therefore they know how to draw small cell foundation.
Now you can add 4,9mm wax foundation, always near to the brood, because
there
the bees draw small cells better. So we can fill a super in a short time.
If you have to feed - ONLY HONEY - not much but constantly.
For instance every second day 250gr.
If there is a big honey flow they tend to make bigger cells.
Now we can take off the HSC frames step by step.
